Great stay

We booked the cabin for our honeymoon, blown away by the listing photos thinking it was a secluded cabin in the woods by the river. When we checked in, we were taken aback. The cabin shared a very short driveway with the neighbors to one side, & you could see right to the opposite neighbors back deck. We were most excited for the hot tub & patio fire pit, but with the close proximity to the neighbors, we didn’t feel comfortable using the hot tub being in full view. There was a note on the fridge saying the patio stove was broken, but there was no message from the host prior to arrival, or that it was not even at the house. The popcorn maker smoked as soon as turning it on, multiple kitchen lights and outdoor lights/heater did not work, the upstairs tv did not work even with two different remotes and a number of cords attached. There was a strong musty smell when first arriving, that took some adjusting to get used to. It was a nice house, just not what it seemed.

I wish we could have arrived earlier in the day to take full advantage. The back area of the home was so beautiful - along the creek/river. We enjoyed the hot tub and the bed was so cozy. We had a great stay overall and we got some cool photos and drone footage. There was a lot of brush in back which made it a bit difficult to see down to the river from lower level but I bet the winter looks gorgeous with snow! Fun experience!

The cabin had lots to do and it was really nice being that close to the river. They had everything we needed and did a great job communicating. I did expect the cabin to be nicer and larger. The photos are beautiful but it seems like the host haven't done any maintenance or upkeep since (ex. overgrown pathways, deck lighting, musty smell in the basement). The photos also do not show the unfinished part of the basement and the narrow stairs leading down into the basement which can easily be a safety hazard. It fit our needs but I wish I would have known about the "quirks" of the house before renting the cabin.
